Ukraine - The Fate of the Russian Flagship

On 24 February 2022, the Russian flagship Moskva and patrol boat Vasily Bykov, began an assault on Snake Island, a Ukrainian island located in the Black Sea. As a small island with only a single village, populated by fewer than 30 people, only a small contingent of 13 border guards were stationed on the island at the time of the attack. During the onslaught, one of the Russian warships taking part in the siege of the island called on the soldiers to surrender in exchange for safety, at which point, the defenders curtly declined the offer, and responded with today very favorite remark.

The exchange leading to it has been translated as:

  • Russian warship: "Snake Island, I, Russian warship, repeat the offer: put down your arms and surrender, or you will be bombed. Have you understood me? Do you copy?"
  • Ukrainian 1: "That’s it, then. Or, do we need to fuck them back off?"
  • Ukrainian 2: "Might as well."
  • Ukrainian 1: "Russian warship, go f**k yourself."

After this event, this remark became a symbol of Ukrainian and whole world resistance against Russia and its aggression, which people began to use everywhere, against every Russian troll on social networks and so on.
After this Russian flagship sank and kissed the seabed, 'becoming a submarine', as some people joked on Twitter, which today temporarily restricted my activities on their network for twelve hours for a rather harsh response to one tweet, against the dictator of Belarus, the usurper Lukashenko. As a result, I will be able to publish this article on specific social network just after the end of the sentence or after 12 hours, for what you can blame this social network, which in this way shown support for the Belarusian dictator and Putin's lackey, Lukashenko.

I wrote quite bitterly about physical coping, even though I meant the political overthrow of this dictator, which was not to be taken literally. No apologies for that from my side and twitter received even few my complains about it. I strongly believe that social networks shouldn't overtake police or court functions and shouldn't do any punishment acts against their users and this battle still awaits me.

As a software developer with three decades of experience, I am thinking of my own social network that will not ban or punish any fierce language, where users only will be liable against the laws of their countries, but with the ability to filter out such content, which they don't want to see, where won't be possible to report anyone, except bots, but they will be able to set such content as harsh, that it was affected by specific their own, but not other people filters, depends who and what wants to see, what will be the part of agreement before registering user's profile on such network.

Basically, not hard to develop it, but to make it as big data project requires large investments, what is harder question for me.

And I suspect that such a fate awaits all Russian warships in the Black Sea. Maybe not on the same day or week. Warships are one of the highest achievements in a country’s entire economy, costing perhaps the most money to build or purchase. A country’s navy is always the result of its economic capabilities and the highest achievements in the industry, where the loss of a ship or fleet can push a country into its evolution many years back.
Meanwhile, Belarus feels the shortage of specialists, after many of them have fled the country from the dictatorship of this dictator. Basically, I broke my leg on this tweet, response to it, after what probably someone reported it and I suffered harsh violence from Twitter's side against me or punishment for it, which I never will accept or consider as fair. Curious, just who did it?
The Lukashenko regime is severely punishing those who oppose it, imprisoning them and even literally breaking their knees, traumatizing people. He also came up with the idea of building a nuclear power plant right next to the Lithuanian border and thus posing a radiation threat to Lithuania with probably Chernobyl-type nuclear reactors, which Lithuanians will never forgive.
So far I'm happy, that social networks censorship works in both ways and some Russian trolls as well getting suspended.
Russia also made fake BBC video, where they blamed Ukraine for missile attack on Kramatorsk...
Meanwhile, in Estonia happened protest at Russian embassy against the aggression.
And the world community is slowly beginning to condemn not only Russia's war crimes, but also the genocide against the Ukrainian people. This is new level of lows for the Russia.
And Ukraine is still waiting for new weapons.
